Piers' Munro Challenge - Completed!

The ‘Munros’ are the 282 Scottish mountains higher than 3,000 feet (914.4 metres). They were first listed by Sir Hugh Munro in 1891.
I started collecting (‘bagging’) them in 1987, and my total on 1 May 2017 was 234 out of the 282, so I had 48 to go.  Climbing the 48 remaining ones involved over 34,000 metres (115,000 feet) of ascent and walking a distance of 769 Kilometres (478 miles).

We have raised funds to support our friends Mike (Medical Director) and Sue (Administrator) Hughes at Potter's Village Child Crisis Centre in Uganda.
My faithful Munro Bear went with me. On 8 September 9 family members and friends accompanied me on the final Munro, Ben Lomond. The total raised so far is £7,170.00; many thanks to all those who supported the appeal. It you wish to donate it is still possible, see details here. Please mark any gifts ‘Munro Challenge’.
