WELCOME TO ST MARY's

St Mary's is part of the Church of England but our members come from all backgrounds. Above all we are a group of people who have come to know God as our loving father. We have experienced what Jesus achieved for us when he died on the cross - namely the forgiveness of our sins and our adoption as God's children. We have also discovered that God is present with us in the person of His Holy Spirit whom we see at work in our lives. Our purpose as Christians is to worship God and to serve Him in all we do.

We believe that God's love for all of us is tremendous news and that He has told us to share it with others. If you want to know more about it we would be delighted to help.

Sunday worship consists of two main services - a traditional service of Holy Communion at 9am & a contemporary style service at 10.30am which also includes Youth Groups, Sunday School & a Creche. Teaching themes are the same at both services. After worship there's a chance to chat over coffee & browse our bookstall.

When do we meet?
Sunday Worship:
9 am Holy Communion: A home for those who find a more traditional, quieter service helpful. Organ, hymns etc.
10.30am Morning Worship: Holy Communion, All-Age worship or Morning Service with Baptisms. Services with a more contemporary feel and including provision for children and young people from birth to 18.

Thursdays:
9.30am Market Day Communion
. Thursday Coffee in the church rooms.

Small Groups: (called home groups) meet at various times during the week to pray, learn & enjoy each other's company. On Tuesday morning a group for young mother's called Refresh meets at 9.15am in the Church Rooms. There is also a Mothers' Union, Monday Club and Creative Minds.

Children's / Youth Work: we have a range of activities including:

Creche (0-3yrs), Sunday School (school years R-6), Pathfinders (school years 7-9), and Re:gen (school tears 10-13) during the 10.30am Sunday worship.

Re:gen Cell group (school years 10+) on Tuesday evenings.

A varied program of youth social events

Finding out about God: if you want to gain a better understanding of what the Christian faith is all about, then our Alpha Course will be of help. This is an normal 10 week course with plenty of time to discuss and explore the faith.

Senior Citizen? Monday club meets in the church rooms on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at 2pm for a varied program of speakers, tea, games & fellowship. The church rooms are also open for coffee every Thursday morning.
