Spiritual Communion

​As you will have realised, we aren’t offering communion during our web services, it’s not something we are able to do as Church of England priests. However, we would encourage you, instead, to develop the practice of “Spiritual Communion” which has been used over the centuries, at many times of crises – globally and personally, when we haven’t been able to attend church to receive communion. We are encouraged by the story of the woman, in Mark 5, who comes to Jesus for wholeness and healing, and only touches the hem of His garment, not Jesus himself, yet still receives healing and blessing. We are not able to receive the bread and wine - but in a spiritual communion we still come to Jesus and he still receives us.
