Hello Pathfinder families! We’re so glad that you’re here!
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Pathfinders aren’t able to meet together at church but we would love to stay in touch online. Here’s a brief video explaining some of the things that we’ve got planned for the next few weeks and how you can get involved:
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Pathfinders aren’t able to meet together at church but we would love to stay in touch online. Here’s a brief video explaining some of the things that we’ve got planned for the next few weeks and how you can get involved:
And here’s a few more details about the activities planned in the video:
Forms and Paperwork: To participate in any of the activities below, it’s crucial that parents complete a new permission form for you to participate in online activities. Both Pathfinders and parents also need to complete an ‘Online Safety Agreement’ together to indicate that you agree to our rules to keep everybody safe online. This sounds complicated but both forms are available online and will only take a few minutes to complete. All parents should have received links via email but if this information hasn’t come through, please email pathfinders@stmarysely.org and we’ll get them to you ASAP!
Updates and Prayer: We realise that the last few weeks haven’t exactly panned out in quite the way that we all had planned! Most of you have finished school quite abruptly, your summer plans have probably changed, and the future might be looking a little uncertain. However, you’re feeling, we would love to hear from you and to know how we can pray for you. Send an email to pathfinders@stmarysely.org – this account is regularly checked by Matt, Becky and Dan. We’ll reply to you as soon as we can and will CC in your parents to make sure that they know that we’ve made contact.
Weekly Zoom Chat: Going forward, we’re planning to have a weekly ‘Zoom’ chat on Friday evenings at 7pm. If you’ve never used Zoom before, it’s a safe way of meeting online to chat and catch up. Details of how to set up a zoom account and find our online meeting will be emailed to you after you and your parents have completed the Permission Form and Online Safety Agreement (see above).
Video Challenge: If you’re stuck at home and fancy something to keep you occupied, why not attempt our video challenge? The first challenge is to see how many times you can keep a toilet roll up in the air whilst somebody is filming you on a tablet or mobile phone. If you need a demo from some of our leaders – check out the video above. You can email any videos you take to the Pathfinders email account or upload them as ‘unlisted’ (hidden) videos on YouTube and email us the link. When we’ve gathered enough entries, we’ll put them together so everybody can view them!
We’re looking forward to you joining us online soon! Do check back this page as we’ll keep it updated with more information in the weeks ahead. And if you have any questions about Pathfinders as we transition temporarily to being an online community, please do contact us at pathfinders@stmarysely.org
If you have any safeguarding concerns about online or offline church activities, please contact Sue Morley (Church Safeguarding Officer) on 01353 661350 or via email. Alternatively, you can contact Rev'd Chris Hill on 01353 662308 or via email. For further information on safeguarding, please our policies page.
